Dear My Daughters,
I have created this website for you, but also for everyone else's daughters too.
You will find many things on here, like philosophy, memories, inspiration and advise, as well as crafty things and yummy things too. Here, you will find empowerment and encouragement, creativity and feminism. I hope to collect many things for you so that you can have it when when you need it.
For my three spirited daughters, I love you forever, no matter what. Being your mom is the biggest thing that I've ever done. I embrace your spiritedness for what it is, and know that your potential is limitless. You both can grow into whatever you dream possible.
I am already so proud of you all, I'll love you forever and ever xo. Mom.
Dear Readers,
I have created this website for you as well. I have passion for organizing and crafting. I love creating things and finding beautiful ways to store and display things. I literally jump up and down clapping like a seal after I’ve purged and organized a space. I have a slight OCD inclination which has been tamed since becoming a parent. My strong desire to keep primary coloured plastic toys out of my décor scheme was replaced by the joy of having my kids play with a primary coloured toy for ten straight minutes. My husband said to me once that I had to lower my standards about cleanliness and organization because I was frustrated about it all the time.
Well, I did. (Thanks for the advice honey!) Now I have a messier house. And that’s okay.
I choose to embrace the chaos that comes with parenting, and even more so with spirited kids.
The mess is temporary. This too shall pass. Remember to breathe deep and choose to focus away from the mess.
One day the house will be clean and back in order all the time, then I will look back and miss the days when the girls were little. And making messes everywhere. All. Day. Long.....
The mess doesn't bother me as much anymore. I’d rather spend it playing and creating with my kids. I still have to clean all the time, and laundry is a full time job in itself, but I took the pressure off of myself and started focusing on the really important things.
As much passion as I have for creating and organizing, my passion for raising my daughters is even greater. Here are two books that I use as resources How to Raise your Spirited Child and Super Nanny. These two never leave my side table and I use them as reference all the time.
I ask for your patience as I learn about website design, because I am a total beginner. I look forward to growing it though, and adding more and more things that I want my daughters to find one day.
Namely, to believe in themselves.
Thank you for taking the time to explore, and I hope you come back again. I’ve got so many ideas and my lack of experience is hindering my ambition. So bear with my as I grow what I consider to be an online resource for my daughters. They are things that, I think, are worth sharing with all of you as well. Miss Brianna is 8.5, and Miss Makaela is 6.5 and Miss Samara is 2. And I am blessed to be the parent to three amazing daughters. Kirstin.
